Plaster and Pebble Finish Repairs

After years of exposure to the Florida sun, a pool’s/spa’s plaster and pebble finish take a beating – plaster chips away and cracks in pebble tech appear. WSI’s pool experts repair cracks and restore the look and integrity of pools and spas.

Pool Plastering

Over the years, plaster on gunite pools wears thin creating rough areas on pool walls and floors. Missing tiles and horizontal cracks compromise integrity, often resulting in water seepage behind the pool wall. As a part of our pool plastering services, the WSI team identifies and addresses the root causes of plaster damage.

Preparation is the key to our success. First, we strip the existing finish with an acid wash. And we chip and etch around skimmers and returns. Second, we sound the walls for weak or hollow spots so that loose material can be identified and removed. Once a pool shell is stripped and sounded, we restore the pool shell substructure, clean it, and prep it with a bonding agent/pre-plaster prep coat.

• White or Grey Plastering: We use the best white Portland cement and crushed marble. Plaster is pneumatically applied and hand troweled to create a fine, smooth finish.

• Gem Quartz “Diamond Brite” Pool Finish: Gem quartz is an exposed aggregate pool surfacing product that blends special cement polymers with quartz. Available in 16 different colors, it is more durable than traditional white or gray plaster. It’s also slip resistant yet still comfortable under foot.

• Wet Edge Technologies / Pebble Exposed Aggregate Finish: Wet Edge Technologies produces a premium pool coating that closest resembles nature. The pebble finish is very durable and low maintenance.
