Carbon Fiber Strengthening

WSI is a certified applicator of carbon fiber wraps, strips and plates for the strengthening of bridge structural components and was one of the original contractors trained for this type of application over ten years ago.
Concrete members that require additional tensile or flexural strength or experience unwanted deflection are repaired utilizing state-of-the-art carbon fiber technology to effectively increase capacity and return structural integrity. In addition, carbon fiber can be used as a “jacket” for pile or column reinforcement and containment.

The retrofitting of damaged or old structures in a cost-effective way is a big challenge for the civil engineering community. However, recent developments in the construction industry indicate that the use of new construction materials, such as fiber-reinforced polymers, may provide viable solutions to the problem.

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) is a highly tensile material in structural engineering applications. These composite materials are associated with structural reinforcement and strengthening, providing innovative solutions for low weight, high tensile strength, and non-corrosive applications.
